Boy Wonder: Professional Musician 97

Day 96 - June 15th 2009

Today was gonna be sweet.

Didn’t have much to do today musically, Monday are usually open because I have Philly Rising. I can’t help but miss it. I often think that the timing probably would have been better had the Bang Camaro tour been in the summer as opposed to the Spring. Philly Rising wouldn’t have missed me as much and I could have kept my 9-5 job. Oh well. My inabilty to replace that 9-5 with another has opened up a world of possibilities top me as far as playing my music and using music to survive.

The songs are sort of half coming to me. So much of what I’ve always done as a songwriter is evaluate really hard where I’m at in my life. It’s weird because my dreams have sort of come true but not really. I still feel like I’m the underdog and no one really knows anything about me but at the same time thousands of people have heard me sing and watch me perform (millions if you count the Kimmel appearance) there’s so much more to the picture and I feel like I wanna paint it. It’s going to be weird to write about stuff like that.

I was pretty stoked to take a break from myself and meet up with Sean (Bang Cmaaro Vocalist) to check out some guy named Davey Knowles and the Back Door Slam. This guy was incredible. It was like I was seeing the new Eric Clapton. A british kid who was playing he blues and doing it well. World Café Live was packed and I had never heard of this guy before tonight. I got a little giddy when I realized that I’ve stood where he’s stood and played my own guitar.

It was pretty heavy stuff, I def needed a nap afterwards. When the blues is played that well it jars you to your core.

After the show was over Sean drove me home and told me all about the Biker show in new Hampshire and future plans for Bang Camaro. It was good to see him, and I hope to keep in touch with him especially since he’s still here.

I’m gonna skip Weeds and hit the bed. I have three guitar lessons to give tomorrow.

A little Davy Knowles and Backdoor Slam from tonight’s show
